N. Admiral NW Contemporary
The goal was to bring the beauty of the outdoors into the home through maximizing views and material choices that echo the natural surroundings. An open floor plan features modern, yet cozy common areas, that gain spaciousness and a connection to nature through an 18’-wide sliding glass wall system opening to an entertainment deck. Extensive use of exposed beams and exterior canopies set a dramatic and decidedly Pacific Northwest tone. Nature-inspired finish materials are used liberally throughout the home, such as ribbon mahogany for doors, cabinets and trim; rich orange stained black oak floors on the main level; and Ipe wood rain screen siding and ground face concrete block on the home’s exterior. The home also features hydronic heated floors and extensive smart home wiring, and power and communication lines were relocated underground to maximize views.
